Question and Answer session on league merger
Dec 9, 2016, 8:36 pm

Northumberland Cricket League will be hold 3 sessions around the county in January,1 in the North, 1 in the South and the other in the Central Northumberland which will be held in the newly extended Ashington Rugby Clubhouse this session will be held on Monday 16th January at 7pm.

Clubs will be asked to attend one of the meetings and we believe that clubs can bring between 3 to 5 members of their committees, this will allow the League to give the reasons for considering the merger and it will also allow clubs to raise any concerns they may have.

Looking for a venue for Cricket Nets
Nov 20, 2016, 2:33 pm

Due to the number of members who said they would not attend nets starting 1st or 2nd week in January, with the time slots which were the same as last year 8pm till 9pm and 9pm till 10pm alternative weeks, for approximately 13 weeks.

We are looking for a venue to have around 6 to 8 nets starting around the last week in February, let your chairman know if have an idea of a facility.

We could use Ashington Sports Centre on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm till 5pm is an option as long as we have enough members willing to attend and the slots are still avaiable.

Cricket Square 27/10/2016
Oct 30, 2016, 11:40 am

Our cricket club invests in our facilities and the evidence is here to be seen, on 27th October our Groundsman gave our square its first cut since the end of season renovations and then followed this up with an aeration .

We have used our germinations sheets on the square and moved them around three times to cover all of out 15 strips, we find that the germination sheets allows for the grass to come through quicker which is what we wanted before the first frost hits us.

Our groundsman is very pleased with the results and how the square looks, he said it is the best grass coverage we had ever had.
