Praying for sunshine
Apr 25, 2012, 8:23 pm

All three teams have been hit with the weather in the first week of the season with no games played at all. Looking at the ground and the weather in the next few days we will be more likely to be able to paddle a canoe at the rugby club end than play a game of cricket.

Rain Rain Go Away
Apr 20, 2012, 10:32 pm

What a week, only able to do any ground work on Monday and Tuesday this week. Covers on since Wednesday. Our outfield and square is soaking wet, pools of water everywhere. Will inspect in the morning however it does not look good.

Unfortunatley we did not sell any winners, many thanks to all our members who purchased tickets.

Here comes the rain
Apr 8, 2012, 10:14 am

Just as the season is getting close the rain comes, what else would you expect.

On Saturday 7.4.2012 in the morning we pushed the moblie covers over the wicket we are preparing for our friendly with Cramlington, hoping that our game can stil go ahead. The long range forecast is not good so we can only keep our fingers crossed.

What else would we expect with the season around the corner - cricket brings the rain, rain stops cricket = Why do we play this sport.

We have a strip ready for practice on Thursday with a 6pm start.

We have also started on the strip for our friendly with Cramlington on 14.4.2012.

Following practice on Thursday we are asking members to stay behind and help push our sight screens in place ready for Saturday's match with Cramlington.

Covers re-built
Apr 1, 2012, 9:10 am

Saturday morning 31.3.2012, 4 members errected our mobile covers, the hardest job was getting them down from on top of our containers. Only job left is fit the hoses which can be done once they are on the sqaure.

Our ground as of the 29th March 2012
Mar 29, 2012, 7:47 pm

The warm weather has given the groundsman a chance to get onto the faclilties this week, we have a practice strip well underway and will be ready for out door training next week.

The place is looking in good nick, our sqaure has good grass coverage and the outfield is lined as if it was ready for a match.
