Matty had 2 good years with us and he goes with the blessing of all at our club, he will be missed not just for his ability on the pitch as a leg spinner and his batting. Matty will also be missed for his banter on and off the pitch "Nickname Maker" or "Motor Mouth".
If things do not go as planned Matty is more than welcome to return.

Club Awards
Nov 4, 2008, 12:57 am Northern Social CC was awarded 3rd place out of 27 clubs in the Club of the Year Award by the Northumberland Cricket League for the 2008 season.
This award is graded from the umpires reports; some of the items which are looked at are the condition of the wicket and outfield, behaviour of players, the quality of the scorer and the book, scorer sheet and paperwork been completed on time, and the general match day experience for the umpires.
This was a great honour for our club who came 10th last season, which shows we are heading in the right direction.
Special thanks should go to the clubs ECB Quailfied Scorer Cory Milburn who is only 14 years old, and his book is second to none in the league.
He has also been reconised by the Northumberland League where he has been the Under 21 League Team scorer for the past 2 seasons. Well done Cory, many thanks from all our members.

Comment from our Groundsman.
It is fantastic honour for our club to be nominated by our own league never mind being awarded joint winners the for the whole of Northumberland.
This award makes the long hours I spend at our ground worthwhile, it has been pleasing to hear so many good comments from umpires and visiting players and officials, in this a very trying season weather wise.
We can only hope the weather is more cricket friendly in the 2009 season. Oct 11, 2008, 7:55 am Our Club would like to thank the Rotary Club of Wansbeck for allowing our club to take part in the Christmas raffle. All monies raised is kept by our club, so it is very very important that all our club members make an effort to sell as many tickets as possible.
All senior members have been allocated £20 worth of tickets, junior members £10.
If anyone would like additional raffle tickets please contact Paul Milburn, as we have a number of books spare. |
