End of Season Winter Wicket Preparation Work
Oct 9, 2008, 11:34 pm
Our club groundsman would like to thank Dean Hardy, David Wanless Snr and David Wanless Jnr for the effort at the end of the season in August.

100 bags of Loam, 3 bags of seed, 3 bags of fertilizer as well as the pre wicket preparation work before the bags could be spread. It was a hard shift but it will pay dividends for the 2009 season, you reap what you sow as the saying goes.

Club Achievement
Oct 9, 2008, 1:51 pm
As can be seen in the paragraph below we have been nominated by the Northumberland Cricket League out of 27 clubs as the ground of the year award for our league, which is a great honour. This is down to the hardwork and effort of our groundsman Paul Milburn, who never seems to be away from our ground.

Northumberland Groundstaff Association are pleased to announce the shortlist for the second Turfcare Northumberland Ground of the year:

North East Premier League - Newcastle
Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League - Percy Main
Northumberland Cricket League - Northern Social
West Tyne League - Humshaugh
Alnwick & District League - Mitford

The winning ground will be judged by executive members of the Northumberland Groundstaff Association and pitch advisors based on the quality of the grounds this summer. The winning club will receive a voucher for £100 to be used on Turfcare Specialists Ltd products.

Presenting the award will be Ian Mather-Brewster (IOG Regional Advisor) at the NGA event on Monday 20th October at South Northumberland Cricket Club, starting at 7:00pm.

Inspiration!
Aug 12, 2008, 8:07 pm
Midge Adamson's new baby daughter has been named Millie!

Michael has been so impressed with our dynamic chairman Mr Milburn since his arrival at the club that he had no hesitation when naming her!

Over the weekend it was confirmed that Millie (his daughter as well as Paul) is now in fact taller than Midge!

Wet Wet Wet
Aug 12, 2008, 8:02 pm
Thursday's Final and Saturday's Meetings with Stobswood were both lost to the weather once more.  In fact not a ball has been bowled in the last 5 encounters vs Stobswood at 1st team level!

This week sees the re arranged Planet Trophies Final at the Rec on Thursday against Clara Vale before both sides encounter the DSS with the 1st XI away on Saturday!

The holiday season has eased slightly and Captains Harwood & Henderson, returning himself, are able to pick from slightly stronger squads this week!

Congratulations
Aug 4, 2008, 8:28 pm
Michael 'Midge' Adamson's better half Ann Marie gave birth to a baby girls this morning weighing 6lbs 8ozs, both are doing fine.

Everyone at the club extends their congratulations and hope this will not effect Midge's on field activities!
